GUSTO CIMMINO: Welcome to my Blog! I love food and cooking. I want to share my passion, recipes and my Italian family culinary tradition. My mother is a great cook and she taught me all recipes that were passed down through the generations. We also used to own a Pasticceria. My grandfather founded the “Pasticceria Cimmino” in 1925 in Naples a very well know and much loved shop in the city. When I was a child I use to spend lots of time in the shop eating all the sweets, cakes and ice cream I could put my hands on. I also spent lots of time looking at the "pasticceri" working in the laboratory, mesmerized by their beautiful skills in cake making and decorating. Before my dad sold the shop I collected all the recipes from the master chef and all the pictures I could find laying around so that I could preserve as much as I could. I used to cook with my dad all the shop’s recipes and after tasting my results he would always commented: "it is very good BUT....." which became a bit of a joke in the family lunch and dinner gatherings. However, it also pushed me in cooking the best I could in the hope of getting his full approval. I hope you enjoy it.
